2017 Annual Technique Competition was held on 22nd Feb. at Naval Meteorological and Oceanographic Office (NMOO), Taiwan. CAPT. Tsui, commanding officer, encouraged all staff to improve working-capability, then verified and checked team planning, leadership, and executive power in professional meteorology & oceanography works. CAPT. Tsui also inspired every participant to fulfill the character of helping each other and mutual cooperation during competition. Competition referees judged team scores based on the ‘thoughtfulness’&‘accuracy’ in data-collection and survey-operation, and the winner could stay in history of NMOO.
Finally, CAPT. Tsui stated that NMOO is the professional authority in Taiwan of nautical chart mapping, nautical publications and Notice to Mariners issuing, and all country economy, development, maritime safety are closely related to hydrographic survey. He wished all staff to uphold main goals of ‘vision enlargement’, ‘technique promotion’, ‘foreign language learning’, ‘constantly working-capability improvement’, and ‘seeking truth from facts’. “Devote yourself to serving Navy, and develop the glorious of NMOO!”, he said.
